About the Oregon Camera Staff
Our store is located in beautiful downtown Corvallis, home of Oregon State University, where we’ve been helping people capture images and memories since 1965. We love assisting our clients in finding just the right camera, lens, printer, binoculars, or scanner.
To us, there is nothing more important than your images. Our service and support are unequaled by any camera store on or off the web. Shop Oregon Camera in the way that is most convenient for you: in our store, by phone, by mail, or through our web site. Whichever way you choose, no matter the size of the sale, we’re here to help you.

Rich Danler, Owner. Retired Professional Mechanical Engineer and product designer. I bought my first real camera, a Nikon F with the Photomic T head, in 1967. In the late ’60’s I added a Mamiya C330, a Crown Graphic 4X5, a Nikon microscope and darkroom. Engineering school and other interests caused me to drop out of photography for a few decades. I went digital in 2003 with the Olympus C5050Z, which re-ignited my passion for Photography. This lead to my purchasing Oregon Camera in October of 2006.

Mike Sloan former owner of Tech Traders in Albany. I have an educational background in the arts, which lead me into the photography field. I was the manager of the Albany Film Machine for eight years. I then Purchased the Film Machine, which became TECHnology TRADERS. During my seventeen years with Tech Traders I served professional and amateur photographers with a full line of new and used equipment. I have experience in Wedding and Studio Photography and photo minilab work. After closing my store I came to work at Oregon Camera as the assistant manager, so I could continue help the photographic community.

Dan Wise, After 25 years in the landscape business, I decided to change gears and follow a different path. I have been a member of the Corvallis/Albany Community for over 35 years. I have always had a love of photography beginning with film in the 60s and continuing with modern digital imaging. I am especially interested in landscape photography. After receiving a degree in Journalism from Linn Benton Community College, I find myself doing freelance photography and writing as well as helping others with their photographic interests at Oregon Camera.

Paul Rentz- Paul began his photographic career in New York in the early 70’s. He began by freelancing to a number of magazines, having a close friend who was a magazine editor that taught him the basics of using a single lens reflex camera.
After leaving New York for Oregon Paul lost most of his contacts in the trades. A friend of Paul’s suggested opening a photo lab which they did in the summer of 1985. Rush Hour Photo and Wireless served the area for twenty four years before Paul decided it was time to sell the building and retire.
After a year of retirement, Paul jumped at the chance to join the staff at Oregon Camera, all of whom shared his interest in photography as well. He has also enjoyed seeing and working with his former customers and friends at new location for Oregon Camera and making new ones.
